Partio on tekemällä oppimisen liike. Se antaa kadehdittavat eväät loppuelämää varten, ja luo
onnistumisen tunteita, jotka voi saavuttaa vain, kun onnistuu saamaan aikaan jotain omin käsin.
Tekemällä oppimisen mahdollistaa vain tekeminen ja kokeilu. Toisinaan kokeilemisen väyliä
kuitenkin tukitaan ja tikapuita kaadetaan perässä kumoon – tahallisesti tai tahattomasti.
”Tehottomuus”, näennäinen hitaus ja turhilta tuntuvat kuluerät ovat joskus merkki siitä, että
tekemällä oppimista tapahtuu.
Kokeilun mahdollisuus ei ole itsestäänselvyys. Partiolehtien lakkauttaminen on malliesimerkki siitä,
miten kokeilemisen väyliä tukitaan. Useat uutistoimittajat ovat saaneet alkunsa partiolehdistä ja
yksi jos toinenkin luontokuvaaja ja eräopas on saanut kipinän tekemiselleen partiosta.
Yksi tuore uhka partiomaiselle kokeilulle ja omilla käsillä tekemiselle on tekoäly. Tekoälyä
käytetään partiossa jo, mutta yhteisiä pelisääntöjä sen käytölle ei näytä olevan.
Osallistuin hiljattain partiotapahtumaan, jonka ilme oli tehty tekoälyn avulla. Kun huomasin asian,
olin pettynyt. Olen itsekin ollut mukana luomassa partiotapahtumia, joiden ilmeet ja logot ovat
koristaneet nuorten tekijöiden portfolioita heidän pyrkiessään kouluihin ja töihin taidealoille, peli- ja
graafisen suunnittelun pariin. Partiosta vaivihkaa saatu kokemus voi olla juuri se tekijä, joka erottaa
muista ja auttaa eteenpäin kilpaillulla alalla. Puhumattakaan siitä ylpeyden tunteesta, jonka voi
saada, kun oma kädenjälki näkyy leirin kuvastossa.
Tekoälyllä on tietenkin käyttötarkoituksensa. Esimerkiksi lääketieteessä tekoälyn potentiaali on
valtava esimerkiksi sairauksien tunnistamisessa. On kuitenkin paikkoja, joissa tekoälyn käyttö on
vähintäänkin kyseenalaista, sen käytön ympäristövaikutuksista puhumattakaan. Taiteessa tekoäly
on uhka jo yksinään tekijänoikeudelliselta kantilta, sillä keinoälyllä voidaan kuroa kokoon jotain
etäisesti taidetta muistuttavaa taiteilijoita ja heidän teoksiaan kopioimalla. Kirjailija Johannes
Ekholm kiteyttää kolumnissaan tekoälyn luonteen luovan tekemisen näkökulmasta: “Sellaista mitä
ei voi kuvitella ei voi kaivata. Tekoäly osaa kuvitella vain sellaista mitä maailmassa jo on.” Tekoäly
on siis kykenemätön luomaan uutta ja luomaan tekijyyttä.
Tekoälyn ideana onkin useimmiten korvata pikkutarkkuutta tai ikävältä tuntuvaa puurtamista
vaativat tehtävät niin kuin sen käyttäjä käskee. Olennaista onkin, että kysymme, mitä tekoäly
partiossa korvaa.
Partio on tekijöiden liike, ja sen sielu sotii suoraan tekoälyn idean kanssa. Kun ryhdymme luomaan
partion sisältöä tekoälyllä, viemme pois mahdollisuuden tekijyyteen. Luominen ja tekemällä
oppiminen on toisinaan haastavaa, hidasta ja työlästä, ja siksi siinä onnistuminen onkin niin
palkitsevaa. Tärkeintä on tarjota nykyisille ja tulevaisuuden tekijöille samat mahdollisuudet kokeilla
ja harjoitella kuin muille. Se vaatii kärsivällisyyttä, malttia ja kotikutoisuuden syleilyä. Tätä ei
tekoälyn käyttö edistä.
